Three area men will be vying for two seats on the Danville Area Community College board this spring.
Incumbent Dr. Ron Serfoss and Harry Brockus of Hoopeston filed their nominating petitions on Dec. 17, the first day to file.
Greg Wolfe of Oakwood filed his petition on Wednesday, which was the last day of filing.
Doug Lawlyes, an attorney from Westville, had picked up a petition but did not file it by the deadline.
The board of trustees has two seats to be filled during the upcoming April 9 election.
The terms that are expiring are for Dr. Serfoss and retired judge John O’Rourke.
Those two vacancies are full terms of six years each.
The last day to file an objection to any nominating petition for the board of trustees’ election is Thursday, Jan. 3; however, the college will be closed through Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Any person wishing to file an objection between now and Jan. 1 should contact Kerri Thurman at firstname.lastname@example.org to establish a time to file the objection.
