- city: Illinois families struggle to heat home due to high propane costs
As families throughout Illinois struggle with the soaring demand and high prices for propane to heat their homes, State Representative Josh Harms (R-Watseka) is asking Governor Quinn and Attorney General Madigan to take additional measures to help affected residents weather the storm. In letters sent to both Quinn and Madigan, Harms and fellow lawmakers, detail four possible actions to help alleviate the crisis, while also requesting the investigation of price gouging and broken supplier contracts.
Harms said he was especially appreciative of the Governors swift action in filing an emergency disaster proclamation regarding the critical shortages of LP gas within our state, however, additional steps need to be taken to ensure our residents make it through the winter.
