News Release for Tuesday, January 15th, 2013

On January 13th, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Tabitha D Breeden age 23, of Loda. Breeden was wanted on a Ford County warrant for Failure To Appear on the charge of Battery. Breeden was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where she posted bond and was released.

On January 14th, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested William E Jarvis age 20, of Chebanse. Jarvis was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant for Failure To Appear on the charge of Resisting a Peace Officer. Jarvis was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

On January 14th, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Jason D Blackburn age 31, of Watseka. Blackburn was charged with Battery and Criminal Damage to Property. Blackburn was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he later posted bond and was released.

On January 14th, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Brandon J Wood age 28, of Beaverville. Wood was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant for Failure To Appear on the charge of Battery. Wood was transported to the Iroquois County jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

On January 14th, 2013 Onarga police arrested Dion Chenier age 18, of Onarga. Chenier was charged with 9 counts of Aggravated Battery after becoming involved in a physical altercation with staff members at the Onarga Academy. Chenier was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

On January 14th, 2013 Iroquois County sheriff’s Police investigated a traffic accident on S. Front St. at W. Monroe St. in Danforth. According to the Police report Corbin A Merkel age 20, of Watseka was traveling east on W. Monroe St. when he failed to stop for a stop sign while making a right turn onto S. Front St. Merkel then struck the driver’s side door of a northbound vehicle being driven by Rosetta A Landry age 71, of Danforth. No injuries were reported and damages were estimated at more than $1500. Merkel was cited for disobeying a stop sign and for operation of uninsured motor vehicle.
