News release for Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police returned from Vermilion County Jail with Cody A. McLaughlin age 24, of Grandview, IN. McLaughlin was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant charging him with Illegal Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. McLaughlin later posted bond and was released.

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested George Delgado age 18, of Onarga. Delgado was charged with Criminal Damage to Property Under $500. Delgado was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Mitchell L. Keitzmann age 37, of Onarga. Keitzmann was charged with Domestic Battery, Aggravated Assault and Bringing Contraband (cannabis) into a Penal Institution. Keitzmann was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he remains in lieu of bond.

On December 4th, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police returned from Hoopeston Police Department with Robert F. Bzdyl age 48, of Rankin. Bzdyl was wanted on an Iroquois County Writ of Body Attachment for failure to appear of the charge of Theft by Deception Under $300. Bzdyl later posted bond and was released.

On December 4th, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested 15-year-old juvenile from Ashkum. The juvenile was charged with Domestic Battery after an altercation with a family member. The juvenile was transported to the Iroquois County Jail and later taken to the Danville Juvenile Detention Facility where she remains.

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated a single vehicle accident on 200N. Rd. near 600 E. Rd. in Loda Township. According to the Police report, Kolin D. Vogel age 26, of Cissna Park was traveling westbound on 200 N. Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway and veered to the left where he struck a bridge rail causing more than $1500 in damages to his vehicle. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated a single vehicle accident on 100 E. Rd. near 100 N. Rd. in Loda Township. According to the Police report, David M. McClain age 15, of Loda was traveling south bound on 110 E. Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. McClain spun out of control and entered the east ditch. Mcclain then entered a drainage ditch where his vehicle struck a chunk of concrete before striking the PVC drainage pipe. McClain was transported to the Gibson City Area Hospital for treatment of injuries. Damages were estimated at more than $1500 and no citations were issued.

On December 3rd, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated a single vehicle accident on 2150 N. Rd. near 2780 E. road in Concord Township. According to the Police report, Fern V. Schroeder age 48, of Iroquois was traveling eastbound on 2150 N. Rd. when a deer entered the roadway.  Schroeder was unable to avoid striking the deer, which caused more than $1500 on damages to the vehicle. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

On December 4th, 2012 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of Iroquois West Elementary School in Thawville, IL. A 2004 Bluebird bus, attempted to drive around a second Bluebird bus parked in the lot, and made contact with the left rear corner of the vehicle. Nineteen student passengers on the vehicle were checked by ambulance and local fire personnel with no report of any injuries. No citations were issued and damage were estimated at more than $1500.
