The fatal accident occurred at 11:39pm Thursday June 21st at U.S. Route 150 and Henning Road.
Charles J. Embro, 45 Danville died just after 12:30am Friday at Carle Foundation Hospital’s Emergency Department in Urbana as a result of the accident. Embro was a pedestrian in the driving lane of Route 150 when he was struck by a 2007 pickup truck driven by Robert J. Ingram, 49 Danville. According to Vermilion County State’s Attorney, Randy Brinegar reports and discussions with sheriff’s investigators indicated there were no outward signs of impairment with the driver, Ingram. Brinegar will wait until receiving the results of the toxicology tests on Ingram before making a final decision. The accident appeared to be unavoidable and no traffic citation were issued to Ingram in connection with the fatal crash.
