Slate set for April city election

Hoopeston Ward 2 voters will have a contest to determine their alderman while the entire city has a choice for mayor.

Incumbent Mayor Bill Crusinberry hopes to retain his seat but is being challenged by Jeramy Dobkins. Ward 2 Alderman Carl Ankenbrand is running for his seat against challenger Charles Strawser.

Offices with no races include:
Ward 1: Joe Fell is running for a two-year term and incumbent Bill McElhaney for four years.
Ward 3: Larry Baughn is running unopposed. Alderwoman Susan Comstock did not seek reelection.
Ward 4: Incumbent Bill Goodwine is running unopposed.
Clerk Gail Lane and treasurer Edye Bookwalter are also running unopposed.
