Joanne V. Irvin, 85, of Watseka, formerly of Rankin
Joanne V. Irvin, 85, of Watseka and formerly of Rankin passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Gilman Health Care Center.
Joanne was born April 20, 1929 in Danville, the daughter of Charles W. and Vivian E. Gladden Crain and they preceded her in death in addition to her step-mother, Pauline Rumble Crain and two brothers, Jack Crain and Sonny Crain. She married Harry “Salty” Irvin on September 20, 1947 in Rossville and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Art) Janssen of Watseka; two grandchildren, Tim (Melinda) Ketchum of Watseka and Becky (Sean) McCalla of Milford; and four great-grandchildren, Haylee & Brayden Ketchum and Hannah & Kendall McCalla.
Mrs. Irvin was a member of the Rankin United Methodist Church, Rankin Jr. Womens Club, Rossville Historical Society and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, the Cubs, the Bulls, NASCAR, and Illinois Football and Basketball.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Knapp Funeral Home in Rankin with an hour prior visitation. Rev. Janet Longtin will officiate. Burial will be in the Rankin Union Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Watseka Fire Fighters Association or Rankin United Methodist Church.
