Rachel Miles had 12 kills, three blocks and 29 digs as the Armstrong-Potomac volleyball team defeated Bismarck-Henning 25-18, 18-25, 25-21 in Vermilion Valley Conference action on Thursday. Morgan Zindars had 30 assists, 17 digs and two aces for the Trojans
Cissna Park beat Momence in straight sets. The Lady Timberwolves move to 10-4-1 on the season.
Tristyn Trosper shot a 43 as the Cornjerkers defeated the Timberwolves at Hubbard Trail Country Club. Anthony Shore shot a 44 and hit an eagle on the fourth hole for Hoopeston Area, while Ryan McGill had a 51 and Jesse Ramos carded a 53. The Cornjerkers are 7-9 after an 0-5 start and will play at the Salt Fork Invitational on Saturday.
Hoopeston Area 7 Geo-RF 0. Chase Bouse and Elijah Yates each had two goals as the Cornjerkers made quick work of the Buffaloes. Brennan Crose had three assists for Hoopeston Area while Nathan Michael had a goal and an assist and Jonathan Linares and Ryan Glotzbach each scored a goal. Trey Layden had three saves in goal for the Cornjerkers, who are 12-1 and 5-0 in the Vermilion Valley Conference and will play Herscher on Saturday.
