wild card weekend….
Colts staged the 2nd biggest playoff comeback in NFL history….beating Kansas City on Saturday 45-44. Indy trailed the Chiefs 31-10 at half. Andrew Luck threw for 443 yards and 4 TDs.
Saints beat the Eagles 26 – 24 on a last-second FG
Chargers beat the Bengals 27 – 10
49ers got by the Packers 23-20 on another last second FG
San Jose Sharks beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3 – 2 in a shootout.
FA Cup play….Manchester United was upset by Swansea, while Chelsea and Liverpool both won.
Notre Dame surprised #7 Duke Saturday beating the Blue Devils 79 -77
Big Ten action from the weekend:
Illinois pounded Penn State on Saturday 75 – 55.
#5 Michigan beat Indiana 73 – 56
#3 Ohio State had no trouble with Nebraska 84 – 53
Michigan beat Northwestern 74 – 51
Minnesota got by Purdue 82 – 79
#4 Wisconsin beat #22 Iowa 75 - 71
Illinois State beat Southern Illinois 66 – 48….then the Saluki’s bus was stuck in the snow overnight on I57 after trying to travel south to Carbondale from Normal.
Tonight is the BCS National Championship game with #1 Florida State taking on #2 Auburn
Of course all area school district sports, including practices and open gyms are cancelled along with school due to the weather.
