College Football….

BCS National Championship game:  #1 Florida State rallied to beat #2 Auburn 34 - 31


Charlie Strong was introduced as the new Head Coach of the Texas Lonhorns, after leading Louisville to a 23-3 mark and two bowl wins the past two seasons.


NFL….

The Indianapolis Colts have signed former New England Patriots receiver Deion Branch just days before the teams meet in the AFC divisional round.


NBA….

Timberwolves beat the 76ers 126 – 95

Brooklyn 91 – Atlanta 86

LA Clippers beat up on Orlando 101 - 81


Golf….

Zach Johnson won the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii with a 7-under 66.


College Basketball….

The Arizona Wildcats (15-0) were still a runaway No. 1, with Syracuse, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State the next four.  Duke—which lost at Notre Dame on Saturday in the Irish’s ACC debut—dropped to No. 16, the first time the Blue Devils have been out of the Top 10 since December 2007.

Illinois moved into the national rankings at No. 23.

And…
Again… all area school district sports, including practices and open gyms are cancelled along with school due to the weather.
