Here’s Your WHPO Sports Report….
The Chicago Bulls traded two-time All-Star Luol Deng to the Cavaliers for Andrew Bynum, three future draft picks and major salary savings. Chicago then waived Bynum by 5 p.m. Tuesday, clearing his $12.3 million salary off their books. That will enable the Bulls to get below the luxury tax threshold, which, combined with the savings from not having to pay Deng the balance of his $14.3 million salary, will save the team more than $20 million…allowing the Bulls to build for the future around Derrick Rose.
Chicago beat Phoenix 92 – 87
Pacers beat the Raptors 86 – 79
#5 Michigan State held on to beat #3 Ohio State in OT 72 – 68
other Top 10 action:
#2 Syracuse beat Virginia Tech 72 – 52
#9 Iowa State beat #7 Baylor 87 – 72
Again… all area school district sports, including practices and open gyms are cancelled along with school due to the weather.
wishing speedy recoveries to Coaches John Spezia and Ron Cade
