The Chicago Bulls beat their old teammate Luol Deng and the Cleveland Cavaliers 98 – 87 last night.  D.J. Augustin scored 27 points in a start for Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson matched a career high with 26 filling in for Carlos Boozer as the Bulls improved to 7-2 since trading the popular Deng

Blackhawks lost to the Detroit Red Wings 5 – 4 in a shootout.


College Basketball…

Big Ten:

Minnesota upset #9 Wisconsin 81 – 68

#21 Michigan beat #10 Iowa 75 – 67

the DACC men’s and women’s teams both beat Lincoln Land last night – the men 58-49, the women 86 - 74

did you hear…? Warren Buffett is offering $1 billion to anyone who picks the perfect NCAA bracket.  Quicken Loans Inc. announced Tuesday that it will team with investor Buffett’s Omaha, Neb.,-based Berkshire Hathaway on the “Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge.”  The Detroit-based mortgage lender says any qualified entrant who correctly predicts the winners of every game in the tournament will be paid in 40 annual installments of $25 million.


HS Girls Basketball…

Vermilion Co. Tournament:

Hoopeston Area lost to Oakwood 44 – 28.  Tori Smock led the Cornjerkers with 8 pts.

Bismarck-Henning beat Salt Fork 39-32 to advance to the Championship game.  Blue Devil Junior Brooke Walsh scored 10 of her game-high 14 points in the second half and she also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Walsh was also 6-of-10 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Bismarck will face Armstrong-Potomac in the Championship, after the Trojans defeated Westville 46-34.

don’t forget about the Vermilion County Cheerleading competition that is this Saturday at the Palmer Arena in Danville.  Competition starts at 10am.
