Wisconsin upset #3 Michigan in OT 65 – 62
#5 Kansas lost again, this time to Oklahoma 72 – 66
also on Saturday….
Notre Dame beat Louisville 104 -101 in 5 overtimes
also Illinois State upset #16 Creighton 75 – 72
and in the Big Ten…
Iowa beat Northwestern 71 – 57

on Friday night – boys’ action:

Watseka beat Iroquois West 48 - 46

Bismarck-Henning got by Milford 55 – 52

Westville handled Oakwood 62 – 40

Geo-RF beat A-P 53 – 26

And Hoopeston Area lost to Schlarman Academy 60 – 33. 

on Saturday:

Milford beat IW 47 – 44 on Senior Nite.  Seniors Josh Killion and Wyatt Alt combined for 18 points as the Bearcats won their final home game of the season.

Jeff Cann had 12 points to lead Milford, who was down 27-20 at halftime before outscoring Iroquois West 27-17 in the second half.

 

Wrestling…

Bismarck-Henning’s Jared Noel took 4th at 170 lbs. and Morgan Supergan finished 2nd at 285 at the Olympia Sectional this past weekend to earn trips to the Assembly Hall next weekend as they qualified for the Class 1A State Wrestling tournament .

youth wrestling…

Congratulations to the Hoopeston Area Youth Wrestling Club who took home 1st place team honors at the first annual Dan Magee Memorial wrestling tournament this Saturday.  Also, at Sunday’s Spartan Rumble youth tournament at the Palmer Area, several Hoopeston wrestlers took home trophies, including 1st place finishers – Jack Simpson and CJ Curry, 2ndplace – Christian Davis, Angel Zamora, Talon Nelson, Ezra Elliott,  3rd place – Bodee Powell & Cole Gaddis
