Here’s Your WHPO Sports Update…...
The field of 68 was announced yesterday at the NCAA tournament will get underway tomorrow night with the first round play-in games and second-round action starting Thursday and Friday. Louisville is the overall #1 seed, with Kansas, Indiana and Gonzaga earning the other #1 seeds. Illinois is a #7 seed in the East Regional and will face Colorado Friday.
Big Ten news:
Ohio State beat Wisconsin to win the Big Ten Tournament crown and help push themselves to a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament West Regional bracket.
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan & Michigan State all also earned NCAA Tournament berths.
Iowa will play in the NIT
Purdue accepted an invitation to the 16-team College Basketball Invitational post-season tournament. They host Western Illinois Wednesday.
and Northwestern fired Bill Carmody on Saturday after 13 years.
Locally… A reminder that the NJCAA Division II National Tournament takes place at DACC for the 20th consecutive year starting tomorrow and running through Saturday. See some of the best junior college basketball players – and likely several Division I coaches and recruiters in Danville all this week.
A tournament pass, which is good for all games, is available for $35.00. Tickets are $6.00 each session/morning, afternoon or evening. Tickets for DACC students and senior citizens are $3.00 and children 6 and under are free for all games.

The Miami Heat equaled the second-longest winning streak in NBA history, pulling away in the fourth quarter Sunday to beat the Toronto Raptors108-91 for their 22nd consecutive victory.
Other NBA winners on Sunday include: Minnesota, Golden State, LA Clippers, Milwaukee, Atlanta, OKC, & LA Lakers.
Kasey Kahne won the Sprint Cup race at Bristol on Sunday.

Hoopeston Stingrays Swim Team is signups and swimsuit fittings will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 10-2 at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge. A final
signup will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10-2 at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge.
Youth who will be age 6 by September 1, 2013 through age 18 who can swim freestyle (front crawl) 50 yards may join the team. Registration fee is $40 for one
