Here’s Your WHPO Sports Update….
The Chicago Blackhawks remain undefeated as they beat the Blues 3 – 0 in St. Louis. Jonathan Toews scored twice for the Hawks who are 17-0-3 and have scored a point in their NHL-record setting 20th straight game.
#2 Gonzaga beat BYU 70 - 65
#3 Duke lost to Virginia 73 – 68
Ohio State beat Northwestern 63 – 53
Joakim Noah had 23 points, 21 rebounds and a career-high 11 blocks for his third career triple-double and the Chicago Bulls ended a two-game losing streak with a 93-82 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
LA Clippers beat the Pacers 99 – 91. Chris Paul had 29 points for the Clippers
LA Lakers over Minnesota 116 – 94. Kobe Bryant poured in 33 points for LA.
Arthur-Lovington knocked off Salt Fork last night at the Schlarman 1A Sectional. The Knights return to Danville tonight to take on Cissna Park in that Sectional Championship. Game time is 7:30.
Also last night, St Joe-Odgen knocked off Kankakee Bishop McNamara 66 – 59 in OT to advance to the Unity 2A Sectional Championship game tonight versus Monticello
And good luck to Hoopeston Area’s Brennan Crose and Daniel Lawson as they compete in the IHSA Class 2A 3-point shootout at the Unity Sectional tonight.

Hoopeston Area Youth Baseball will hold sign ups for Pony League, Major, Minor, Instructional League and T-ball at the WHPO Business Expo at the civic center on Saturday March 9th from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and on Sunday, March 10th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Children must be age 5 by Aug. 1st to participate in T-ball. Fees are $40 for T-ball and $60 for all other divisions. Family discounts apply. Last day for Pony League sign ups are March 18th and last day for youth baseball is April 1st. Another sign up will be held March 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at city hall in Hoopeston.
