Here’s Your WHPO Summer Sports Update…..
The Blackhawks tied up the Stanley Cup Finals series at 2 games a-piece after beating the Bruins 6 – 5 in OT last night. Brent Seabrook’s goal 9:51 into the extra period lifted Chicago to the win. Game 5 is Saturday.
The Cardinals beat the Cubs 4 – 1. Chicago is in St. Louis tonight for the final game of that series.
Twins beat the White Sox 7 – 4. The Sox are back in Minnesota this afternoon.
The deciding Game 7 of the NBA Finals between the Heat & Spurs is tonight.
Confederations Cup semi-final action from yesterday:
Italy beat Japan 4 – 3
Brazil blanked Mexico 2 - 0

SUMMER SPORT CAMPS:
• Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire will host a camp for ages 3-high school July 8-12 right here in Hoopeston. This unique opportunity brings professional soccer players and coaches to Hoopeston for individualized instruction. The camp fee includes a dri-fit t-shirt, ball, and a free ticket for the player to a Chicago Fire game. The cost is one-third the cost of area 4 day soccer camps. • Cornjerker football camp: New Year, New Team, One Dream.
Hoopeston Cornjerker football camp for grades 3-12 will be held July 22-25 at the high school practice field behind the bus parking lot. Grades 3-6 will practice from
9-11 a.m. Grades 7-12 will hit the field from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $15, payable to HAHS Football. Deadline is July 5. Extra t-shirts are $10. For more information, contact
