Here’s Your WHPO Summer Sports Minute….
LeBron James overcame a terrible start to finish with 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and the Miami Heat rolled to a 103-84 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night to even the NBA Finals at a game apiece.
Jimmy Johnson won at Pocono. He leads the Sprint Cup points race by 51, ahead of Carl Edwards.
Patrick Kane’s hat trick lifted the Chicago Blackhawks into the Stanley Cup finals as the Hawks beat the LA Kings Saturday night 4-3 in 2 overtimes to win the Western Conference. Chicago will host the Boston Bruins Wednesday night in game one of the Finals.
The Bears have traded former first-round draft pick Gabe Carimi to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The White Sox beat the A’s 4 – 2
The Cubs beat the Pirates 4 – 1 on Cody Ransom’s 3-run home run.
Cardinals scored 7 runs in the 10th inning to beat the Reds 11 – 4.

SUMMER SPORT CAMPS:
• Hoopeston Area Head Soccer Coach John Klaber’s annual youth soccer camp will be June 17-19. You can learn more about the camp and Coach Klaber’s program at: www.cornjerkersoccer.com.
• Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire will host a camp for ages 3-high school July 8-12. This unique opportunity brings professional soccer players and coaches to Hoopeston for individualized instruction. The camp fee includes a t-shirt, ball, and a free ticket for the player to a Chicago Fire game. • Cornjerker football camp: New Year, New Team, One Dream.
Hoopeston Cornjerker football camp for grades 3-12 will be held July 22-25 at the high school practice field behind the bus parking lot. Grades 3-6 will practice from
9-11 a.m. Grades 7-12 will hit the field from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $15, payable to HAHS Football. Deadline is July 5. Extra t-shirts are $10. For more information, contact
