Iroquois County Jury finds Villanueava guilty of predatory criminal sexual assault

Iroquois County jury convicted an Onarga man of a Class X felony.  47 year-old Jose Villanueava faces up to 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced for predatory criminal sexual assault.  State’s Attorney Jim Devine said Villanueava faces a minimum of 10 years.

According to the Paxton Record, a jury trial is under way for a Paxton man charged with second-degree murder in connection with last October’s stabbing death of another man outside a downtown Paxton bar.

Vermilion board hires firm to study county buildings, space needs

According to the News-Gazette, NVILLE — The Vermilion County board decided Tuesday night to hire Henneman Engineering in Champaign to do a facility-needs study on all county buildings.

For $16,560, the firm will study all nine county buildings, including the courthouse, courthouse annex and health department, and determine what space needs exist.
