For the first time, Illinois voters can register to vote on Election Day, however, not all polling places offer this option according to Jim Tenuto with the State Board of Elections.

October was wetter than normal in Illinois

According to State Climatologist, Jim Angel the statewide average rainfall for October was 4.5 inches.  That’s 1.2 inches above the average.  He said some areas received a lot more rain than others in Illinois.

The Women Making a Difference will host their 3rd annual Craft Fair this Saturday in Hoopeston at McFerren Park Civic Center from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Two $100 gift cards and one $50 gift card will be raffled off at the close of the Craft Fair.

Vermilion County searching for additional Democrat election judges

The Vermilion County Clerk’s office is searching for additional Democrat election judges.  “We have lost a number of Democrat judges over the past few days,” County Clerk Lynn Foster said.  “It is crucial that we find additional Democrats who are willing to serve November 4th.  Judges will complete our on-line training program before Election Day, and will be paid $120 for their service.  Judges will begin work at 5:15 a.m. and finish up approximately 7:30 p.m. that day.”
