Illinois State Police Fatal Traffic Incident

The Illinois State Police District 21 responded to a crash on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 4:46 p.m. on IL 54 at 1000 East in Ford County.  The accident involved three vehicles, a 1986 Ford Pickup, a 2000 Peterbilt Truck Trailer and a 2009 Dodge Pickup.

Farmers take advantage of warm, dry weather

Farmers had plenty of time to work in the fields this past week according to the weekly crop report.  Warm, dry weather conditions helped move along harvest progress according to state crop statistician Mark Schleusener.

Inmate found hanging in cell in Ford County Jail

In Paxton, an inmate at the Ford County Jail was rushed to an Urbana hospital after he was found Monday morning hanging by the neck from a bed sheet in his cell.  The inmate, whose identity has not been released, remained in Carle Foundation Hospital’s critical care unit as of 2 p.m. Monday, Sheriff Mark Doran said in a news release.

Flu Shot Clinic in Hoopeston

Carle HRHC will have a flu shot cliniat at Charlotte Ann Russell Medical Center from 8 am to 3 pm on September 29th.  Flu shots will be available for those six months and older.  No appointment is necessary.
