According to the Commercial News, Two Ohio men were arrested following a shooting outside of a Danville bar early Sunday morning.
According to Sgt. Josh Campbell, officers were already in the vicinity of Studio 25, 128 N Walnut St, around closing time when the shooting took place in the parking lot.
Police reports stated a shot was fired in the air from someone within the crowd, around 2:05 a.m. Sunday.
Campbell said Ryan Young, 35, of Lima, Ohio, led officers on a brief foot pursuit from the parking lot, which led to his arrest.
“They ended up catching him”, Campbell said.
According to court documents filed on Monday, Young was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of a weapon without a FOID card.
Campbell also said that the serial number was scratched off the gun he possessed.
Also arrested at the scene was James Young, 36, also of Lima, Ohio, for obstructing a police officer. No formal charges have been filed against him thus far.
According to Campbell, no one was injured during the shooting.
Vermilion County States Attorney’s Office was not available for comment Monday.
