New member joins Vermilion County Board

According to the Commercial News,A vacancy on the Vermilion County Board was filled Tuesday night.
The precinct committeemen in County Board District 6 picked Thomas Morse III, a Vietnam veteran, to fill the District 6 vacancy. He is retired from the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System and was commander of American Legion Post 210 for the last two years.
Dennis Miller of District 6 resigned from the board last month. Miller was elected to the board in 2012 as a first-time member.
Letters were issued by the county and Republican Party central committee members following Miller’s declaration to find a replacement.
Morse turned the American Legion commandership over to his wife Audry Morse, also a Vietnam veteran.
Tom Morse has lived in Danville for 33 years on Poland Road. He and his wife were very active in the Bismarck school programs.
