Board of Health Meeting Location Change

Due to a scheduling conflict at the Gilman-Danforth library, the special Board of Health meeting of the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department October 7, 2013 at 7pm has been relocated to the Iroquois County Administrative Center, located at 1001 East Grant Street Room 108 in Watseka, Illinois. The meeting will remain the same day, date and time. (October 7, 2013 at 7pm).

Test Drive a New Chevy this Saturday and Help Hoopeston Fire Department

Just test driving a vehicle this Saturday will help the Hoopeston Fire Deparmtnet.  Dave McFadden owner of Anthem Chevrolet will have a new Chevrolet Pick-up truck and Impala on site at McFerren Park and each test drive will raise $20 to be donated to the Hoopeston Fire Department thanks to General Motors.

Split Vote on Increase of Liquor License in Hoopeston

A request from Sunny Singh to have a hard liquor license at Hoopeston Marathon was defeated after the city council split on whether to increase the number of liquor license available in the city.

Hometown Hero Fundraiser

Local businesses and organizations are teaming up to help our heroes.  Come support the first responders and volunteers who helped during the recent tire facility fire.  All proceeds will go to replace damaged equipment.  Family Fun from 4:00-7:00pm in McFerren Park and 21 & Over 6:30-Midnight featuring food, adult beverages, live auction and music by Country Feel and Marshall Gibson Band and Featuring Triple Ot Buck.  Kickoff your morning at 7:00am by listening to WHPO and bid, buying and saving on items donated by local businesses and organizations all proceeds go towards the benefit.

Early Dismissal Hoopeston Area Schools Oct. 2nd

Hoopeston area schools will be dismissed early on Oct. 2nd for a Professional Development Day for Staff.  Grade Schools will be dismissed at 2:05pm and the Middle/High School will be dismissed at 2:20pm.
