Excessive Heat Leads to Early Dismissal for Hoopeston and Rossville Schools

Both Hoopeston and Rossville schools will dismiss an hour early today (Tuesday) and Wednesday.
Early dismissal set for 2:05/2:20pm.

KAMEG Press Release

On Friday, September 6,  2013 at approximately 9:35 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 618 Hemlock Lane, Bradley, IL. During the investigation, agents seized approximately 815.3 grams of cannabis, a digital scale, drug packaging materials and loaded semi-automatic handgun.  The resident, Dwayne E. Stinson, age 42, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (500-2000 grams), unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, no valid FOID and with armed violence.  Stinson was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

High Speed Chase Injuries Officers and Cannibas found puts two Danville men in Jail

Two Danville men are in the Public Safety Building in Danville after leading police on a chase that resulted in the recovery of nearly 20lbs of cannabis and injuries to a Hoopeston officer and auxilliary officer. 
A traffic stop around 12:19am Saturday on the 1000 block of West Orange where both the driver, Benjamin F. Hillsman, 33 and his passenger Keionna AG Cottrell, 21 produced their driver’s licenses before Hillsman then put the vehicle in gear and took off at a high rate of speed.

Chicago ─ Attorney General Lisa Madigan today announced that an Iroquois County automotive and salvage operation will pay a substantial civil penalty for illegally storing and disposing of used tires. The company also has been ordered to transfer thousands of used tires and automotive waste to a facility with a permit to accept the debris.

KAMEG Arrest

On Saturday, August 31, 2013, at approximately 12:43 a.m., while conducting a drug investigation in the 500 block of East Cypress Street, Kankakee, IL,  KAMEG agents arrested Craig Dorsey Jr.,  age 26, of 623 Double Jack Street, Bourbonnais, IL.  Dorsey was arrested after agents located 13 clear plastic bags containing 49.3 grams of cannabis and a digital scale in his vehicle.  The cannabis had an estimated street value of $986.00.  Dorsey was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (30-500 grams).  Dorsey was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.
