Director of Public Safety, Larry Thomason, said that Robert L. Butler of Danville was arrested at 2:00pm on WEdnesday by Danville Police in the area of English and Franklin Streets in connection with the April 13th murder of Jamal Sampson.
A warrant issued for three counts of first-degree murder was obtained by police and Mr. Butler was taken into custody without incident. The warrant was no bond. Butler remains in custody at the Public Safety Building.
On April 13th, Danville Police were called to a residence in the 1500 block of East Fairchild around 5:00am and found Sampson lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.
