Aggravated Battery H14-4066 V14-7451
Date & Time: July 31, 2014 11:38pm
Location: VFW 426 W. Orange St.
Victim: 41 year old Potomac man
Arrested: Jeff H Chandler (37) of Hoopeston
Details: Suspect was taken into custody after an altercation with the victim outside the
VFW which resulted in a severe laceration to the victim’s hand.  The suspect was
later transported to the PSB in Danville to await arraignment in court.

Details: HFD responded to a fire alarm that turned out to be a malfunction due to
storm related issues.

Hit & Run PD Accident (Solved) H14-3884
Time & Date: August 1, 2014   2:45pm
Location: Hoopeston Police Department
Arrestee: Neal, Lucas E (30) of Hoopeston
Details:  On July 25th, 2014 at 2:47am a previously reported accident had occurred in the
500 block Front St.  The arrestee was located today and taken into custody
on the following charges:  Leaving Scene of an Accident & Driving While License
Revoked.  Subject was released after posting $150 cash bond on those citations.

 

Burglary To Motor Vehicle H14-4089
Date & Time: August 1, 2014 4:18pm
Location: McFerren Park
Victim: 29 year old Champaign woman
Details: Victim advised officer that unknown subject(s) entered her vehicle while it was
parked near the Civic Center and stole her purse.  The purse was later recovered
in the 900 block of W. Main but was missing a camera and several other items.

Details:  A set of keys and clip were turned into HPD that were found in the street.  Owner may identify them at City Hall.

Details: A black AT&T phone was found and turned into the Police Department
owner may identify and claim at HPD

Time & Date: August 2, 2014   09:14am
Location: 700 block E Chestnut St Hoopeston
Complainant: 67 year old Hoopeston woman
Details: At the above time and date it was reported that person(s) unknown had
entered the complainants property causing damage.  Items were removed
without permission.

Location: 400 block E Washington St
Complainant: 51 year old Hoopeston woman
Details:    Unknown person(s) had ransacked their car and removed several items.

Time & Date: August 2, 2014   2:15pm
Location: 600 block E Main St
Complainant: 72 year old Hoopeston man
Details: Unknown person(s) had ransacked their car and removed several items.

Details: Fire Department responded to above to assist EMSs, County, and
State Police with a rollover accident.

Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver & Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver
Date & Time: August 2, 2014 10:50pm
Location: S. Market and E. Maple
Arrested: Eron Marquez (20) of Cissna Park
Details: Suspect was taken into custody following a traffic stop at the above location.  He
was later transported to the PSB in Danville to await arraignment in court.

(UPDATE) Traffic Accident H14-4043 VA14-1149
Date & Time: July 30, 2014 9:49pm
Location: E. Washington at Fifth St
Unit 1: 1997 Ford SUV driven by Heather M. Billingsley (37) of Hoopeston
Bicyclist: 13 year old Hoopeston boy

Additional: On August 1, 2014, a Hoopeston woman contacted HPD and confessed that it was she who struck the 13 year old boy on his
bicycle the night of July 30th, not Heather Billingsley who had been
arrested and taken to the PSB.  After further investigation by HPD
officers and consultation with the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s office, all charges against Heather Billingsley will be dropped and she was released from custody.  The State’s Attorney’s office will determine further charges or actions in this case against the driver of the vehicle.


Possession of Methamphetamine H14-4130 V14-7556
Date & Time: August 3, 2014 2:37pm
Location: 400 block W. Penn
Arrested: Kevin L Robbins (19) of Hoopeston
Details: Suspect was taken into custody on the above charge following a disturbance at
a private residence.  He was later transported to the PSB in Danville to await
arraignment in court.
