Crescent City Man Arrested for DUI
ASHKUM, IL- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of Casey A. Kaufman, 23, of Crescent City for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
On January 17, 2014, at approximately 12:42 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Iroquois County. The trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Casey Kaufman. While speaking with Kaufman the trooper could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and Kaufman admitted to drinking. The trooper had Kaufman perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he failed. Kaufman was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and transported to the Iroquois County Jail for processing. Kaufman was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued citations for Speeding, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by Driver, Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Notify Secretary Of State of Address Change.
