District 21 Weekend Arrests

ASHKUM, IL- Illinois State Police (ISP) District 21 is reporting the arrest of: Treven R. Weathers, 23, of Milford, IL for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs; Kyle M. Janssen, 25, of Newark, IL and David M. Janssen, 50, of Newark, IL for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon and Illegal Possession of Fireworks; Tyler C. Milone, 28, of Bradley, IL for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol: Oscar Salazar, 21, of Shorewood, IL for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. 

On November 8, 2013, at approximately 2:30 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol on Interstate 57 in Kankakee County.  The trooper observed a vehicle traveling to close behind another vehicle.  The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver Treven Weathers.  While speaking with Weathers the trooper observed Weathers to be acting nervous and his hands were shaking.  The trooper had Weathers exit the vehicle and the trooper conducted a consensual search of Weathers.  The search revealed a syringe and .03 grams of suspected heroine.  Weathers admitted to using heroine a couple hours earlier.  Weathers was transported to Kankakee County Jail where he failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.  Weathers was cited for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. 

On November 8, 2013, at approximately 6:03 P.M., Illinois State Troopers responded to a report of gun shots in Iroquois County.  The troopers found the suspects in a parking lot in Watseka.  The troopers spoke with the driver, Kyle Janssen, and passenger, David Janssen, regarding the incident.  Both occupants were placed under arrest.  A search of the vehicle revealed an unloaded Glock 22 handgun in the rear passenger seat along with two loaded magazines and fireworks in the trunk.  Both suspects were cited for Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon and Illegal Possession of Fireworks. 


On November 9, 2013 at approximately 1:35 A.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol in Kankakee County.  The trooper observed a vehicle go through a red light.  The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver Tyler Milone.  While speaking with Milone the trooper could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.  The trooper had Milone perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he failed.  Milone was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was transported to Kankakee County Jail for processing.  Milone was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

On November 10, 2013 at approximately 10:37 P.M., an Illinois State Trooper was on patrol on Interstate 57 in Kankakee County.  The trooper observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit and weaving in and out of its lane and cross the center line.  The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver Oscar Salazar.  While speaking with Salazar the trooper could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.  The trooper had Salazar perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he failed.  Salazar was placed under arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was transported to Kankakee County Jail for processing.  Salazar was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
