News Release for Thursday, January 3rd, 2013
On January 1st, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police arrested Donald J. Barnhart age 35, of rural Donovan. Barnhart was charged with domestic Battery after becoming involved in a physical altercation with his girlfriend. Barnhart was transported to the Iroquois county Jail where he remains awaiting a court appearance.
On January 2nd, 2013 Eric Gregory age 40, Watseka turned himself in at the Iroquois County Jail. Gregory was sentenced to server 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on the charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence.
On January 2nd, 2013 Garrett Coffey age 28, turned himself in at the Iroquois County Jail. Coffey was sentenced to serve 18 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections on the charge of Driving while License is Revoked.
On January 1st, 2013 Gilman Police arrested Zachary Weakley age 24, of Onarga. Weakley was wanted on a Mclean County warrant for Failure To Appear on the charge of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis 10-30 grams. Weakley was transported to the Iroquois County Jail where he awaits extradition to the Mclean County Jail.
On January 1st, 2013 Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police investigated a single vehicle accident on 2829 E Rd. near Rte. 24 in rural Sheldon. According to Police report, Ian B. Anderson age 17, of Milford was traveling southbound on 2820E Rd. which was snow packed and icy. Anderson’s vehicle began to slide on the ice covered road and entered the east ditch where it overturned before coming to rest on its roof. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued. Damage were estimated at more than $1500. Sheldon Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
