Police make arrests in street detail

DANVILLE — Representatives with several law enforcement groups made arrests, and netted drugs and a weapon during a recent street detail.

DANVILLE — Representatives with several law enforcement groups made arrests, and netted drugs and a weapon during a recent street detail.

Illinois State Police issued a press release on Tuesday confirming the street suppression detail conducted in Danville on Friday.

Officers from the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Danville police and the county sheriff’s department conducted the detail, along with state police.

As a result, 11 arrests were made on Friday for charges including possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespassing, driving while suspended and pedestrian in the roadway.

In addition, almost 30 grams of cannabis and one ecstasy pill were seized along with a weapon. Officers also wrote 21 tickets, issued four warnings and five city ordinance violations. Six vehicles were towed.

According to state police, similar details will be conducted in the future.
