USA has 4 medals so far at Sochi – 2 Gold (both in snowboarding) and 3 Bronze ( including one in the first-ever team-figure skating event). 

College Basketball…

Big Ten:

Wisconsin upset #9 Michigan State 60 – 58

Illinois ended an 8-game skid, beating Penn State 60 – 55


#1 Syracuse stayed undefeated after beating Clemson 57 – 44

#2 Arizona easily beat Oregon State 76 – 54


Bulls knocked off the Lakers in LA 92 – 86

Pacers lost at Orlando 93 – 92

and the Detroit Pistons fired Head Coach Maurice Cheeks after just 50 games at the helm

HS Basketball…

from Saturday:

Milford beat Salt Fork in Sheldon 55 – 37.  Alex Portwood had 20 pts. for the Bearcats.

Girls Regional action starts this week….


Congrats to….Junior Jarod Noel of Bismarck-Henning who won his 100th match and took the regional title in the 170 pound division at the Class 1A Regional on Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph-Ogden High School.  B-H also advanced 4 others: Davin Huber, Gage Foster, Tyler Pasley and Jesse Jennings to Sectionals.

and…..Hoopeston Area’s youth wrestling club competed in the annual Spartan Rumble at the Palmer Arena in Danville yesterday.  Champions included Owen Crase, Angel Zamora & Anthony Zamora.
