Here’s your WHPO Sports Update….

College Basketball…

Florida, Wichita State and Arizona are the top three teams in the men’s Associated Press poll for the second straight week.  Duke moved up two spots to fourth while Virginia, which won its first outright ACC title since 1981, jumped from 12th to fifth.

Big Ten action tonight….The Illini host Michigan tonight in their final home game of the season.  The Wolverines can clinch the Big Ten title with a win.

….Connecticut remains No. 1 in The AP women’s basketball poll Monday after improving to 31-0 after beating #3 Louisville last night. The Huskies have won 37 straight games dating to last season, the third-longest streak in school history.  Notre Dame stays unanimous at No. 2. The Irish finished the regular season unbeaten after beating North Carolina and NC State last week.


Bulls lost to the Brooklyn Nets 96 – 80

LeBron James scored a career-high 61 points, breaking Glen Rice’s franchise record, as the Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 124-107


Peyton Manning passed a scheduled offseason exam on his surgically repaired neck Monday and has been medically cleared to play in 2014.


Cubs and White Sox both won, the Cardinals lost in pre-season baseball.
