College Basketball…

final weekend of regular season play and the start of conference tournaments leading up to the start of March Madness…...

on Saturday:
Illinois upset #24 Iowa 63 – 60 on a last-second 3 pointer by Jon Ekey

on Sunday:
Ohio Sate got by #22 Michigan State 69- 67

Nebraska upset #9 Wisconsin 77 -68

Big Ten Conference Tournament starts Thursday in Indianapolis

#2 Wichita State beat Indiana State 83-69 to win the Missouri Valley Conference Title and finish the season 34-0….the first Div. I team to finish the regular season undefeated since UNLV in 1991. 


Bulls knocked off the Heat 95 – 88 in OT


Chicago Blackhawks beat Buffalo 2 -1


Brad Keselowski edged out Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the last lap to win at Las Vegas Motorspeedway


Congratulations to Hoopeston Area’s Brennan Crose who took 1st place at the Westville Sectional 3-point shoot-out – advancing him to State at ISU’s Redbird Arena later this week. 

Also congratulations to several Hoopeston Area youth wrestlers who qualified for the IKWF State Tournament in Rockford – Max Conn, Tyson Coon, Brody Powell, Ezra Elliott, Eliseo Zamora, Adam Colunga, Alex Riddle, and Cova Curry advanced after placing at the Mattoon Sectional on Saturday.  As a team, Hoopeston Area placed 4th overall out of 43 teams - 2nd in the Senior Division.
