HS Basketball…

Hoopeston Area continues to battle for the top spot in the Vermilion Valley Conference as they beat Armstrong-Potomac 60 – 35.  The Cornjerkers are 16-9 overall and are tied with Bismarck-Henning for 1st in the VVC.

Bismarck knocked off Salt Fork 59-53 in double OT

Geo-RF beat Oakwood

Chrisman got by Westville

PBL beat Fisher

HS Girls Basketball…

Cissna Park advances in the Gilman 1A Sectional semi-finals with a 54-34 win over Lexington. 
the Timberwolves will face host Iroquois West in the Sectional final.

Watseka fell to St. Thomas Moore in that Sectional semi-final match-up. 

College Basketball…

#5 ranked Duke held off Georgia Tech 68 – 51

#8 Kansas got by Texas Tech 64 – 63

#15 Iowa at Indiana was postponed after an 8-ft steel beam fell to the seats from the ceiling of the Assembly Hall in Bloomington just hours before the opening tip.

the Illini hope to climb out of the bottom of the Big Ten standings…they are at Minnesota tonight.


men’s hockey quarterfinals going on right now – the USA takes on the Czech Republic at 11am our time.
