Here’s your WHPO Sports Update….


Labron James led the Miami Heat over the Indiana Pacers 87-83 to tie the Eastern Conference finals series at 1 game a-piece.

NBA draft Lottery was also held last night – the Cleveland Cavaliers won the #1 pick for the second year in a row, and 3rd time in the past 4.  The Milwaukee Bucks fell one spot to second, and the Philadelphia 76ers will draft third. 

And Charlotte announced Tuesday at a news conference that it has officially changed its name back to the Hornets after 10 years of being known as the Bobcats.


Cardinals beat the Diamondbacks 5 – 0

Cubs beat the Yankees and Japanese ace Masahiro (“mas-a-hero”) Tanaka 6 – 1

White Sox beat the Royals 7-6


Game 2 of the Blackhawks/Kings Western Conference Finals is tonight in Chicago.  The Hawks lead the series 1-0.


Oakwood beat Armstrong-Potomac 13-1


Watseka beat Milford 10-0 in 2A Regional semi-final play at Prairie Central

Bismarck-Henning beat Oakwood 15-2 at that same 2A Regional

top seed Leroy beat Armstrong-Potomac 13-3 at the Class 1A Regional in Fisher


Rossville-Alvin’s Aaron Inda won the 800 (2 minutes, 7.34 seconds) and 1,600 (4:47.71) meter runs during the IESA Class 8A state track meet on Saturday.  Rossville-Alvin ended up fifth as a team.
