Stanley Meador, 100, of Hoopeston

Stanley Meador, 100, of Hoopeston, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Heritage Health.
Stanley was born on February 15, 1914, in Franklin, Kentucky, the son of Virge and Alma (Barker) Meador. 
He is survived by his daughter- April (Donald) Mayberry of Hoopeston; son- Donald (Karen) Meador of Norfolk, Virginia; three grandchildren- Darren and Jason Meador and Todd Mayberry; five great-grandchildren; brother- Thurman Meador of Wellington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter- Judy Meador, son- Charles Meador and three sisters.
Stanley owned and operated S and R Truck Lines for 35 years, until he retired in 1984.  He enjoyed mechanics and working on his semi-trucks.  He also enjoyed pheasant hunting and drinking coffee with his friends at Henning’s.
Graveside services for Stanley Meador will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Floral Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.  The family has entrusted the Brown-Alkire Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Stanley’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on Stanley’s memorial page at:  www.blurtonfuneralhomes.com.
