Delmar “Ralph” May, 65, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 4:57 A.M. Saturday November 29, 2014, at his home in Hoopeston. He was born February 22, 1949, in Watseka, IL, the son of Delmar “Del” and Henrietta (Wiggs) May. He married Deborah Bowlin on December 12, 1982, in Urbana, IL. She survives in Hoopeston.
He is survived by four daughters, Tiana (Dave) Pickett of Attica, IN, Heather (Dave) Hughes of Hoopeston, IL, Tracy Brandriff of Champaign, IL and April (Leon) Fivecoat of Hoopeston, IL; five sons, Robert (Missy) May of Attica, IN, Michael (Heather) May of Crawfordsville, IN, Brent (Heather) May of Attica, IN, Kris Rogers of Hoopeston, IL and James English of Hoopeston, IL; 11 grandchildren, Caly Jo Pickett, Jacob Goodin, Lindsey May, Carissa Kohl, Heather Stenson, Blake May, Austin Sawyer, Levi Fivecoat, Chandler May, Madison Abney and Tylar Abney and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Ralph was a machinist for over 44 years, working for several different companies. He owned Manito Machinery and was a business partner of Fun Time Games. He also worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, R L Brownfield, Danville Steel and Iron and Lenny’s Machine Shop. Ralph was a member of the National Machinist Association and the Caterpillar Teamsters Union.
A visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Anderson Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce McQuigg officiating. Following the funeral service, per his wishes, he will be cremated.
