High School Girls Basketball…

Georgetown-Ridge Farm beat Milford 45-37
Buckley Christ Lutheran got by Kankakee Trinity Academy 36-34 in OT. Andrea DeBella had 13 points and 4 steals for the Crusaders.
and a game you heard on WHPO last night, Bismarck-Henning beat Hoopeston Area 41-35.  Brooke Walsh had 12 points for the Lady Blue Devils.  Haley Dixon lead the Cornjerkers with 13, and Shelby Holzinger had a career high 21 rebounds.

The Schlarman Academy 7th grade girls basketball team won the Class 2A state championship last night, beating Lincoln West 35-17.  Schlarman was a perfect 21-0 for the season.

High School Wrestling…

Hoopeston Area lost 2 in a triangular meet last night in Oakwood.  Devin Cartwright, Gage Foster, Jacob Varns and Ethan Linder did register pinfall wins on the night.

Also….check out the Hoopeston Area Youth Wrestling squad in an inter-squad meet tonight in the high school gym, starting at 6pm.  Over 40 wrestlers are on roster and travel to their first tournament in Clinton on Dec. 16.

Reminder, tune into tonight for live coverage of the Milford Bearcat boys basketball game, which will feature guest PA announcer Jim Sheppard, the former public address voice for the Fighting Illini.

And don’t forget…

Hoopeston Area Youth Basketball Academy will be holding a sign up on Sunday, Dec. 9th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the fire station on North Market.  This is the last day to sign up.  A volunteer meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. also on the 9th at the fire station.
