High School boys’ basketball…

A pair of games for the Hoopeston Area boy’s basketball team this weekend…
On Friday….Brennan Crose led the Cornjerkers with 19 points in a 54 – 46 win over
Armstrong-Potomac.    And On Saturday…the Cornjerkers lost a
heartbreaker at Gibson City 52-50.

Also on Friday night….

Schlarman 45 – Milford 42
Bismarck-Henning 64 – Oakwood 42
St. Joe-Odgen 74 – Watseka 39
Cissna Park 51 – St. Thomas Moore 48
Clifton Central 44 – Iroquois West 42
on Saturday night:
Cissna Park beat Schlarman 42 – 26.  Beau Anderson and Cole Hasslebring had 11 points apiece to lead the Timberwolves.

girls HS Basketball…

on Saturday:

Addison Stoller’s double double helped Cissna Park beat Hoopeston Area 37 – 25. 
Watseka 66 – Milford 34.  Devin Curry had 20 points and Hayley Gray added 11 for the visiting Warriors.

HS Wrestling…

Hoopeston Area competed at the Prairie Central Hawk Classic on Saturday and finished 11 out of 15 teams – with Devin Cartwright, Gage Foster and Ethan Linder each taking 4th in their individual weight classes.  Josh Johnson earned 5th, and Jacob Varns a 6th place finish.

youth wrestling….

2 successful tournaments this weekend for the Hoopeston Area Youth Wrestling Club:
At Oakwood on Saturday, the team had 7 - 1st place, 7 - 2nd place and 5 - 3rd place finishers.
At Paxton on Sunday:  5 - 1st place, 11 - 2nd place and 9 - 3rd place
