Regional results from Saturday:

local wrestlers who advance to Sectionals after finishing in the top 3 at their respective Regionals:  Hoopeston Area’s Josh Johnson,  Gage Foster and Dylan Pate.  Bismarck-Henning’s – Morgan Supergan, Jarod Noel, Dalton Edwards, Davin Huber and Tyler Pasley….and Antonio Alvarez, from Oakwood/Armstrong-Potomac, who claimed the only regional title for the Vermilion Valley Conference at 126 pounds. 

High School Basketball…

re-cap of Friday’s boys VVC action:

Salt Fork beat Oakwood 56 – 45

Westville handled Geo-RF 65 – 31

Milford 67 – Armstong Potomac 41

Bismarck-Henning 53 – Schlarman 41

and Hoopeston Area lost to Chrisman

Saturday girls HS action:

Schlarman beat Milford 40 – 30 to claim a share of the VVC title with Georgetown-RF. 

And Buckley Christ Lutheran beat Calvary Baptist 39 – 36
Oliva Janssen had 18 points and Andrea Debella 16 for the Crusaders

Girls Regionals start tonight…

Milford takes on Salt Fork at the Armstrong-Potomac Class 1A Regional starting at 6pm.

Schlarman takes on Buckley Christ Lutheran.  The #1 and #2 Seeds Armstrong-Potomac and Cissna Park will take on the winners of tonight’s games on Tuesday. 

Hoopeston hosts its own Class 2A Regional, as they take on Beecher Tuesday night at 7:30.  The #1 seed Watseka will play Tuesday at 6pm the winner of Monday night’s Clifton-Central/Momence game.

The Bismarck-Henning Lady Blue Devils travel to the Westville 2A Regional tonight to take on Oakwood.
