College Football…

Alabama remained No. 1 and received 58 of 60 first-place votes from the media panel after beating Virginia Tech 35-10 to start its season.
No. 2 Oregon and No. 3 Ohio State traded spots from the preseason rankings. The Buckeyes received one first-place vote. Stanford is No. 5.  Clemson has surged to #4 - its highest ranking in The Associated Press poll in 25 years

High School….


Hoopeston Area lost to Arthur-Lovington 59-12 in a game suspended by weather last Friday night. 


Cissna Park beat Hoopeston Area, 25-13 and 25-21.  The Timberwolves JV squad also won in straight sets.


Andy Bott fired a 36 and won medalist honors by 5 strokes, leading Bismarck-Henning to a 29-shot victory in a three-team meet at Harrison Park Golf Course. David Warren of B-H finished second. Tristyn Trosper’s 45 was the low score for runner-up Hoopeston Area.

Bismarck-Henning lost to Salt Fork 3 - 2

and Hoopeston Area took a beating last night in Danville, losing to the Vikings 10-2.  Hoopeston is 2-1 and hosts Bismarck-Henning tomorrow night.
