Here’s Your WHPO Sports Report….


Jay Cutler threw two touchdown passes to Brandon Marshall, and Tim Jennings had two of the Chicago Bears’ three interceptions against Eli Manning in a 27-21 victory over the winless New York Giants on Thursday night.
The Bears (4-2) snapped a two-game slide following a 3-0 start. New York is 0-6 for the first time since 1976


Tigers beat the A’s 3 – 0 to advance to the AL Championship Series.  Game 1 is tomorrow vs. Boston.  The Cardinals and Dodgers start the NL Championship series tonight in St. Louis.


Jeff Gordon won the pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

High School…

Hoopeston Area lost at Urbana Uni High 2-1.  The Cornjerkers finish the season with a 15-4 overall record.  They will share the VVC title with Salt Fork after the Storm held off Oakwood 2-1.  The Cornjerkers will take on the winner of Iroq West vs. St. Anne on Tuesday night in the semi-finals of their own Regional. 
Cissna Park handed Watseka their first loss of the season, winning in straight sets 25-19 and 25-20.
Schlarman beat Bismarck-Henning 2-0
Hoopeston Area lost at Chrisman 2 – 0
Armstrong-Potomac beat Milford 2 – 0

Hoopeston Area travels to Bismarck tonight to take on the Blue Devils in VVC action.
Milford/Cissna Park hosts Attica tomorrow.
