Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a torn muscle in his groin during Sunday’s loss to the Washington Redskins, an MRI confirmed on Monday, and the team announced he’ll be out of action for at least the next four weeks.
The injury elevates veteran Josh McCown into the starting role, and the club has signed Jordan Palmer to serve as the backup. The Bears also confirmed Monday that seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs will miss approximately six weeks due to a small fracture in his left shoulder

Armstrong-Potomac won the Vermilion Valley Conference Championship last night with a 25-21, 25-22 straight set victory over Salt Fork. Bismarck-Henning won the County 3rd place match, beating Oakwood in straight sets.
