at the “Battle for Atlantis Tournament”….

#2 Kansas beat Wake Forest 87 – 78

#23 Iowa held on to beat Xavier 77 – 74

at the “Old Spice Classic”….

#5 Oklahoma State beat Purdue 97 – 87

the Illini women lost to Arizona State 84 – 60 at the Cancun Classic

and The Fighting Illini men host IPFW (Indiana/Purdue @ Fort Wayne) tonight

HS Boys Basketball…

Cornjerker Classic action continues tonight.  Donovan and Bismarck-Henning tips off at 6:00.  Hoopeston Area takes on LeRoy at 8:00.  Between the 2 games will be the 2013 Hoopeston Area Athletic Hall of Fame Inductions.


HS Football…

Good Luck to the St. Joe-Ogden Spartans as they travel to Northern Illinois University today to play Stillman Valley for the Class 3A State Championship. 



Congratulations to Hoopeston Area’s Brennan Crose – who was named the Commercial News Soccer Player of the Year yesterday.  The Cornjerkers Mason Jett and Chase Bouse were named to the paper’s 1st team.  Bismarck-Henning’s Blake Reifsteck and Skylar Neutzmann were also 1st team selections.
