Here’s Your WHPO Sports Report…...


Monday Night Football…. the Bears beat the Cowboys 45 – 28 behind QB Josh McCown’s 348 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.  McCown also ran for a 5th TD

College Football…
Four quarterbacks and two running backs were named Heisman Trophy finalists on Monday.
Quarterbacks Jordan Lynch of Northern Illinois, Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M, AJ McCarron of Alabama and Jameis Winston of Florida State were all invited to the Heisman ceremony on Saturday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).
Auburn’s Tre Mason and Boston College’s Andre Williams are the running backs.

College Basketball…..
Arizona moved up one spot to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll on Monday, the Wildcats’ first top ranking since 2003.  Syracuse, and Ohio State moved up two places to second and third, and Wisconsin jumped four spots to fourth.
Michigan State, which had been No. 1 for three weeks, dropped to fifth after losing 79-65 at home to North Carolina.

HS Girls Basketball…

Bismarck-Henning beat Hoopeston Area 36 – 19

Milford beat GRF 41 – 34.  Golene Thrush had 12 pts for the Lady Bearcats.
