Schlarman Academy beat Hoopeston Area 54 – 28 in VVC action last night.  Tori Smock and Haley Dixon each had nine for Hoopeston Area while Brea Bushong added four.

Armstrong-Potomac beat G-RF 57 – 43,

Bismarck-Henning beat Milford 32 - 26

HS Wrestling…

Oakwood defeated Bismarck-Henning 44-34 and Westville 45-26 to win the Vermilion Valley Conference and Vermilion County titles for the second straight year.

College Basketball…

#10 Michigan got by Purdue 75 - 66

Nebraska beat Indiana 60 - 55

#3 Florida beat Miss St 62 – 51

#13 Cincinnati got by #12 Louisville 69 – 66


Pacers lost to the Suns 102 – 94

…announced yesterday it will make the most extensive changes to its split-season playoff format since the Chase for the Sprint Cup was introduced in 2004, expanding the Chase field from 12 to 16 drivers and emphasizing winning races, among other changes.

Tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 1 is the annual “Pack the Place” event – with 4 games planned against Schlarman Academy at the HA Middle School gym.  Basketball action starts at 3pm with the JV girls, then JV boys at 4:30; Varsity girls at 6pm and Varsity boys game at 7:30pm.  HA Sports Boosters will hand out 500 free t-shirts starting at 5pm to fans with a paid admission to the games.
