Penn State beat Northwestern 66 – 59

OKC 95 – New York 94

The White Sox beat the Cubs 8 – 3 in pre-season action from Arizona yesterday.  Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn both homered for the Sox.

The Chicago White Sox and left-hander Chris Sale agreed on a five-year deal worth $32.5 million.  Sale was one of the most dominant pitchers in the major leagues in the first half of 2012, placing among the top four in wins and ERA

Tiger Woods made nine birdies on Thursday and grabbed a share of the first-round lead at the WGC-Cadillac Championship in Florida, shooting a 6-under 66.  Woods holed four birdie putts longer than 15 feet and overcame three bogeys to share the lead with reigning Masters champion Bubba Watson and 3 others.

Congrats….to Hoopeston Area’s Brennan Crose who competed in the IHSA 3-point shootout last nite at Carver Area in Peoria.  Crose was one bucket shy of landing the finals for Class 1A players.

Parents find all of your Hoopeston spring and summer sport sign-ups at the WHPO Business Expo this weekend at the Civic Center:  Hoopeston Girls Softball, Hoopeston Area Youth Baseball (T-Ball, Instructional, Minor, Major & Pony leagues), the Hoopeston Area Youth Soccer Academy, and Hoopeston Sting Rays swim team will all have registration and information at their booths Saturday & Sunday.

All of those groups, as well the Rossville Youth Baseball & Softball organization can also be found on Facebook - to learn the latest about their sign-ups and volunteer opportunities.
