Here’s Your WHPO Sports Update…..


The Chicago Bears are moving forward without Brian Urlacher after both sides were unable to reach an agreement on a free-agent deal, the team announced Wednesday. 
Urlacher told the Chicago Tribune that he doesn’t plan to retire.


James Madison beat Long Island University Brooklyn 68 – 55 last night…..the Dukes will face #1 seed Indiana Friday night.

LaSalle beat Boise State 80 -71 to move onto face 4th seed Kansas.

Hope your brackets are done…..The field of 64 tips starts today with 2nd round games.  Illinois takes on Colorado tomorrow in Austin, TX.  Tip-off is 4:40pm.


The Miami Heat have won 24 games in a row….holding on to beat Cleveland last night 98 – 95.

Other NBA winners last night:  Brooklyn, Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York, Charlotte, Washington, San Antonio, and Memphis won in OT

Hoopeston Stingrays Swim Team is signups and swimsuit fittings will be held on Saturday, March 23 from 10-2 at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge. A final
signup will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10-2 at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge.
Youth who will be age 6 by September 1, 2013 through age 18 who can swim freestyle (front crawl) 50 yards may join the team. Registration fee is $40 for one
