The Bulls beat the Timberwolves 104 – 97
The Chicago Bears on Sunday agreed to terms with linebacker James Anderson, who was released by the Carolina Panthers earlier this month.
Anderson is the second linebacker added by the Bears since they announced that Brian Urlacher would not return in 2013. Chicago signed linebacker D.J. Williams to a one-year contract on Friday.
Kyle Busch won yesterday’s Sprint Cup race at Fontana, Calif.
Tiger Woods leads the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill by 3 strokes after play was halted yesterday by thunderstorms. Woods can re-claim the #1 ranking in the world if he can hold on to win the tournament today.
Illinois’ Jesse Delgado is the NCAA Champion at 125 pounds…. after beating Penn State’s Nico Megaludis 7 – 4 Saturday.
locally….Hoopeston 8th grader Jack Simpson won two matches and was a member of the first place Illinois Gold IKWF team that competed this weekend at the Middle School National Duals in Danville.
The Hoopeston Area girls softball team took 2 from Champaign Central on Saturday, winning both games of a double header 10-0.
And CP baseball won both games both games of their doubleheader Saturday versus GCMS..winning 10-7 and 15-9.
and Congratulations to the Hoopeston Area middle school boys and girls bowling teams who competed at State this weekend in Peoria. The girls team finished 12th out of 39 teams, the boys 19 out of 50 – in just their first year of existence.
