UConn easily beat Louisville 93 – 60 to win the women’s national championship. The title ties the Huskies with Tennessee for the most women’s championships in NCAA history.

Clifton Central beat Hoopeston Area 12 – 7 at home yesterday. Jordan McFadden had a home run and 2 RBIs for the Cornjerkers. Hoopeston travels to Bismarck Thursday afternoon for VVC match ups with the Blue Devils in softball and baseball.

First Baptist (of Danville) beat Community Christian 8 – 0.
• Hoopeston Stingrays Swim Team 2013 signups will tonight (April 10) from 6-8 p.m. at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge. A final signup will be held on Saturday, April 27 from 10-12 at the Hoopeston Masonic Lodge
• Hoopeston Area spring basketball camp for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will start April 15 and ending May 16. Cost is $35 for the camp.
The camp is to be held at the middle school gym every Monday and Thursday nights 6:-7:30, which is designed to improve individual skills - There will be no games or scrimmages at this camp.
