Here’s Your WHPO Sports Update…..


The Giants rallied to beat the Cubs Thursday 7 – 6 at Wrigley

The National completed a 3-game sweep of the White Sox, beating Chicago 7 - 4


Nate Robinson scored a season-high 35 points and the Chicago Bulls rallied to beat New York 118-111 in overtime Thursday night and end the Knicks’ 13-game win streak.

OKC beat Golden State 116 – 97 behind Kevin Durant’s 31 points. 


Marc Leishman and Sergio Garcia are tied at 6-under to lead the Masters after the 1st round at Augusta.  53-year old Fred Couples is 4th at 4-under and Tiger Woods shot at 2-under 70 and sits tied for 13th. 

Local Sports….


Armstrong Potomac got by Shiloh 11 – 10.  Megan Cain had three RBIs and a home run for Armstrong-Potomac, while Kristen Newnum had a homer and two RBIs. Morgan Zindars picked up the win for the Trojans

Girls Track:

MADIE BROWN of Hoopeston Area won the 1,600-meter run (6:15.30) and the 3,200-meter run (13:24.43) to lead the Cornjerkers, who finished fifth as a team at Watseka.

Boys Track:

ANDY SAVAGE finished first in the 3,200-meter run (11:27.62) for Bismarck-Henning, which placed third at that same Watseka meet.
